Working with Sonya has been absolutely wonderful. She is reliable, professional, knowledgeable, and someone I completely trust our baby with. We feel so lucky to have found Sonya and for her to have been available when we were looking for a night doula. Sonya was with us for at least four months (time is fuzzy during that phase), several nights a week to help with our newborn. As first-time parents, we wanted a doula that could answer questions, model new skills, screen for signs of postpartum depression, and help us catch up on sleep. After my highly traumatic birth ending with a C-Section delivery, having Sonya on our team became a real lifesaver. Sonya was gentle but firm about ensuring I got the rest I needed to recover and provided critical support to my husband, who was left to solo parent for a good couple of weeks due to my degree of disability. She is an excellent match for women who tend to be driven and who are going to struggle a bit with resting after delivery, as well as any new Mom/Dad who is feeling anxious. After delivery, I struggled a lot with my milk supply, and it was at Sonya's suggestion we got a second evaluation and discovered our son had a severe lip and tongue tie, impacting his ability to latch. I am confident that without Sonya's knowledge and support, I would not have made it beyond the first month of breastfeeding. Sonya is an incredibly knowledgeable, kind, wise, and competent Doula. I recommend her to all of our friends when we learn they are pregnant, and several friends who live out of town have hired doulas themselves based on our phenomenal experience with Sonya.
